Day 1
Reception at the Simon Bolívar Airport in Santa Marta. Transfer to the hotel, refreshment, city tour to discover the historical places of the city and the cultural richness of its habitants.
Day 2
From the most antique city in Colombia (Santa Marta), we will take a A/C van to the Aguacatera sector, there we will take a 4x4 vehicle to El Mamey sector (Machete Pelao), in that place we will have lunch. After lunch we will begin a walk of 7.6km to the first campsite (Adan cabin, rural town) where we can stay over. Also we will make a stop in a cristaline water river to take a refreshing bath.
Some people complete the walk in 3 hours, others in 5, all depends of your physical shape. During the night, the indigenous guide will tell us about the history and traditions of his community and the region.
Day 3
We will begin a walk that takes approximately 8 hours, along the path we will visit the indigenous community of Mutanzhi where we will talk and interact with the habitants, then we arrive to cabin 3 (cabin Paraiso Teyuna, indigenous community), located at an altitute of 830 above sea level, near Teizhna (teyuna) the sacred city of the Tayronas. In this trek we will apreciate the flora and fauna of the Sierra Nevada of Santa Marta. In the afternoon we will rest and take a bath on the river. In the night the guide will tell more about Ciudad Perdida and its meaning to all the indigenous people of La Sierra.
Day 4
After having breakfast we will take a walk to Ciudad Perdida, to arrive to the sacred city we will have to climb 1200 steps constructed by the ancient Tayronas, the walk takes about an hour, when we arrive, we will visit different sacred places of the city.
El Mamo (indigenous espiritual leader) will tell us sacred histories and will give some tips for our lives. At 11:00 a.m. we will return to the cabin to for lunch. After lunch, we will begin a descent of 5 or 6 hours to the campsite (Mumke cabin, indigenous community) where we will stay over.
Day 5
In the morning we will go to El Mamey (Machete Pelao), during the travel, we will make a stop to visit a small natural waterfall where we can swim in its refreshing waters.
Upon arrival at el Mamey we will have lunch, after the lunch we will take a vehicle to the Aguacatera sector, there we will take a A/C van back to Santa Marta, we will arrive approximately at 4:00p.m.
Transfer to your hotel.
