Experience two weeks full of adventure, cultural life together with other travelers in a small group tour. Adventure and activities and immersion in the “Pura Vida” lifestyle are guaranteed. Get involved in one of our partner animal rescue projects, live like a local and experience action while you improve your Spanish interactively.
WEEK 1: PURE NATURE, SUSTAINABILITY, INDIGENOUS COMMUNITY & SURFING
Bienvenido a Costa Rica! After arriving in San José, a city tour and a two-hour Spanish introductory course await you. You can put your Spanish skills to the test during your assignment on an ecological farm and help out milking some goats or planting a tree. After this rural experience with a local family, we will drive further into the mountains to visit the indigenous community Boruca, where a mask workshop, the local community museum and traditional handicrafts as well as some stunning views await you. After continuing to Dominical, you will have an introduction to surfing and a 2h lesson with our professional local partners. This afternoon you can discover the little beach town and find yourself a small gift made by one of the local artists or keep practicing to ride the waves. If we have the possibility and are within season in the afternoon we visit the sea turtle project, where you can learn more about the protection of sea turtles. The next day we’ll on a horseback ride to the stunning Nauyaca waterfalls.
WEEK 2: PURE ADVENTURE, NATIONAL PARK & WILDLIFE Enjoy the diversity of animals in Manuel Antonio National Park and in our wildlife project, where you can help feed the animals and support general care and maintenance tasks. The curvy roads take us high into the Cloudforest of Monteverde where we have planned an amazing zipline in the treetops of Montverde. Across the lake and we will relax in the afternoon in the hot spring pools and waterfalls await you at the picture-perfect Arenal volcano. After the refreshing experience, we will have a short visit at the National Park Arenal to learn more about the volcano. The next morning we have a next highlight as early in the morning we will start our journey towards one of the best rivers for rafting, the Pacuare river. Included here you will have breakfast and lunch included and a lot of fun riding down the rapids of this river. In the afternoon we will travel back to San Jose where you can review your experiences over a delicious dinner in San José. Your drop off Airport is scheduled for the morning so please let us know if you have different plans.

During the tour you will be accompanied by specialized guides who know the specifics of the regions exactly. In addition to countless insider tips, you will also get to know the language better, for example when buying at local fruit stands or in souvenir shops. In addition, the tour guides will introduce you to local fruits and dishes. You can try typical dishes of the indigenous community as well as a top dinner buffet at the Hot springs on the Arenal!

DAY 2: Transfer to San Isidro, city tour local market, fruit tasting (breakfast, dinner at night on an eco- managed farm)
DAY 3: Working on the farm 4h in the group, (breakfast, lunch, dinner)
DAY 4: After breakfast, visit the indigenous community of Boruca, which includes mask workshop and traditional handicrafts (breakfast, lunch, dinner, traditional accommodation).
DAY 5: After breakfast we head to Dominical. Afternoon free. (Overnight in hotel with breakfast included).

DAY 7: Morning surf lesson 2h, in the evening we visit the sea turtle program (season June to November). (Surf course, project tour, hotel accommodation with breakfast included, dinner at the camp)
DAY 8: Drive to Manuel Antonio National Park with guided tour (included during December through May) to and in the afternoon transfer to the Wildlife Project. (Breakfast, biological reservation of entry, transfer, dinner, night incl.)
DAY 9: Volunteering at the rescue center project; Preparation of food, assistance with feeding the animals, gardening, painting, cleaning of cages, etc. (costa rican style breakfast, lunch, dinner, shared accommodation included) Transfer to Monteverde.
DAY 10: Monteverde Zipline Tour (Breakfast, Transfer, Zipline Tour, Admission) over-night stay with breakfast.
DAY 11: Free morning in Monteverde, transfer to La Fortuna at 2 pm (breakfast, transfer, accommodation incl.)
DAY 12: Guided tour to Arenal National Park and entrance to the hot springs. (breakfast, Arenal tour, hot spring bath, buffet dinner included)
DAY 13: Pacuare rafting trip with lunch, return to San Jose and dinner (breakfast, lunch, dinner, transportation, rafting tour, night included)
DAY 14: Today is the return flight to your home country and depending on your departure time we will arrange a shuttle to the airport (breakfast included, airport drop off).
