Learn Spanish and Surf in a combined experience. Diversity School offers the Standard Program + Surf Camp for students who want to combine the Spanish language program with the adventure of learning how to surf the beautiful waves of the Caribbean ocean of Costa Rica. With this program you will learn and improve your communicative and surfing skills, all is prepared according to your needs.
- Aiport pickup and drop off.
- First and last night homestay in San José (meals as described).
- Bus station transfer to reach your school destination (bus tickets not included approx. USD 13 each way).
- 20hrs Spanish class in group (Standard Program) (Monday to Friday).

- 5 nights at volunteer house or home stay (meals included: breakfast buffet and served dinner with great variation fresh ingredients).

Day 1: Arrival to SJO International Airport. Your San José host family will meet you there and transfer you to their home nearby. There you can recover from the long journey. Room and meals Included.
Day 2: Your host family will take you to the bus station to take the bus to Puerto Viejo, located in the South Caribbean of Costa Rica. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to the volunteer house Room and meals Included as described.
Day 3 to 6: These days you will be able to participate in different interactive activities while learning Spanish at Diversity School. You may want to use your knowledge to practice with local people.
Puerto Viejo is near the Cahuita National Park, famous for pristine Caribbean beaches. Another interest feature of the area are Black Beach or Manzanillo hike to the look out. But just every beach is worth a visit. The accommodation is about 15min by bike from the language school and just 8min walk to the nearest beach in Cocles.
Your days after school, you will receive 4*2 hours of surfing lessons. Enjoy the waves and warm waters of the Caribbean sea. These surf lessons are ideal for those looking to either learn the basics or improve their surfing skills along with professional certified surf instructors. Room and meals Included as described.
Day 7: Today after finishing your class, your host family will take you to the bus station in the afternoon to take the bus back to San José along with beautiful landscapes. Upon arrival, your host family will pick you up and take you to their home for your last night in the country. Room and Meals Included.
Day 8: Transfer will be provided to SJO International Airport. You need to be there 3 hours before your flight time.
Casual clothing like: sweater, loose shirts, pants, jeans, shorts, hat or cap and bathing suit. We also recommend: Sunscreen, sunglasses, hiking shoes, small backpack to carry on tours and activities, water bottle, flashlight, bug spray, raincoat, camera and binoculars.
- Rates are per person with a 2 pax minimum and they may change depending on the dates of interest. Feel free to contact us to receive a quotation with your specific dates, number of travelers and specific requirements.Since the Spanish classes are from Monday to Friday, it is highly recommended to schedule the arrival to the country on a Saturday to start the classes on Monday.

- During Costa Rican National Holidays, classes are not imparted.
- Local flights and transfers allow a maximum luggage weight of 25 pounds (12kg).
